JOHN YORKE ATLEE


Comediante norteamericano (Washington D.C, 22-03-1853-Philadelphia, 24-11-1933), famoso en el circuito de vodevil por sus interpretaciones silbadas, fue pionero de la grabación sonora en cilindros de cera, siendo uno de los primeros artistas en grabar para la Columbia Phonograph Company, compañía donde grabará sus temas más populares. Después de grabar prolíficamente para Columbia 
entre 1890 y 1894, AtLee grabará para Berliner (1894-1898) y, en mayo de 1900, graba sus últimos discos, para la Victor Talking Machine Company.
