Como en el caso de las primeras listas del Harlem Hit Parade, aunque las de Folk Records estaban orientadas más bien hacia el western swing y la música country, siendo un claro precedente de las posteriores listas de Country & Western, hay que mencionar que también daban cabida a algunos de los éxitos R&B del momento, como es el caso de los discos de Louis Jordan, Ella Fitzgerald, Benny Carter, Nat King Cole o los Five Red Caps.
